What’s Up Wednesday #2

Hey my beautiful readers!  I don’t know about you but I am still trying to figure out where September went and how October got here so fast?!   I have some exciting news!  Today I taped a news segment for a new recipe!  This makes my fourth time going on The Full Plate with Rebecca Regnier on Channel 13 ABC News, Toledo, OH.  Rebecca is such an awesome host!  She makes everyone feel so comfortable and the atmosphere is so relaxed that I don’t get too nervous.  She always knows exactly what to ask and when to ask it.

I was so happy I got to drag along my best friend with me today to share in the fun!  Something I believe with my whole heart is having people in your corner who support you and encourage you!  She gets me, I get her and we are always there for each other.  I credit a lot of who I am today to her love and support.

The recipe I shared is great for tailgating, holidays, parties of all kinds or even just for dinner!  Bacon Wrapped Stuffed Dates with a bunch of variations!  You guys know I love to give options with my recipes.  The recipe isn’t up on the blog yet but will be this week!  I do have an older one back in the archives though!

The past week has been crazy busy and I can’t wait to crash tonight and be lazy.  Well, after I go to my daughters volleyball practice to scrimmage her team.  I love that her coaches ask us parents to come in and help out.  We get to spend time with our kids and it’s a great workout!  You know what else I love?  That the same daughter has a teacher that asks frequently for my help in the classroom with projects.  I spent three out of the last 5 school days helping out in her classroom.  She’s in 5th grade and I know one day she may not want me around all the time, so I am cherishing this time right now.  My house is a mess, and laundry is piled up from not being home but we are all happy and I can’t possibly ask for more than that.  My heart is happy.  The house will get cleaned soon enough.

Since I like to give you guys something useful in each of these posts, I’m going to share another cool product I love and why!  Most everyone has heard of probiotics by now and why it’s important to take them for not only gut health but health in general!  A lot of people don’t know that it’s good to change them up from time to time though.  Cycling a few favorites every few months.  Variety is the spice of life!  Especially when it comes to a healthy microbiome.  My usual probiotic is Prescript Assist which is a soil based probiotic.  I took it for about 6 months then switched to MegaSpore.  MegaSpore is a very strong pharmaceutical grade probiotic that I ordered through Megan Rand (GingerNewtrition) on Instagram.  After my trip to Costa Rica back in April my body was “off” and needed some extra TLC.  That probiotic was just the ticket.  Now I’m back to maintaining and am using Garden of Life Raw Probiotics for Women.  It works really well! My only complaint is that it is supposed to be taken three times a day.  I forget and take it only at night.  Still works great!   So there’s my two cents on probiotics!  Be sure to change them up from time to time and don’t underestimate the value of probiotic rich food like fermented vegetables, high quality sauerkraut, and Kombucha.

That’s about it for this week!  I’m looking forward to a slightly more relaxing week ahead and time to get back to my Yoga Kids Teacher Training!
